Daft Punk Unmasked, Then & Now
Check out Daft Punk sans helmets in 1994 and 2013.

Back in 2013 when Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories came out, the internet nearly exploded after a photo of the French duo without their trusty robot helmets on emerged. The shot showed Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo apparently enjoying a game of champagne pong at the Columbia Records office. It was a bit fuzzy, so fans hoping for a clearer look at the robots in the flesh now have a better look at Bangalter thanks to his cameo in a new film.

Bangalter can be seen in the clip up top, reading a magazine while Jon Heder storms into the room and yanks it from his hands in very Napoleon Dynamite fashion. The dialogue-free role is for Reality, a film directed by Quentin Dupieux (who records music under the name Mr. Oizo) and starring Bangalter’s wife.

According to Consequence of Sound, he’ll also be unmasked along with the other half of Daft Punk in the film Eden, which examines French electronic music in the ’90s.
