There's A Wallaby On The Loose In Gloucestershire

Police said that it's "not the usual bouncers that we're interacting with on a Saturday night".

An animal believed to be a wallaby or a kangaroo is on the loose in Gloucestershire, according to local police.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police told BuzzFeed News that "we had a call from a person on Saturday evening saying that they'd seen a kangaroo or maybe a wallaby running free in the area".

They said that while they originally managed to corner the animal behind a house in Woodmancote, near Dursley, Glouscestershire, they were unable to contain it.

"We tried to catch it, but it ran off into the wooded area," police told us.

On their Twitter and Facebook accounts, police were taking the incident in good humour.

Kangaroo update - we have it cornered 'outback' of a house in Woodmancote but no owner identified yet.

Police originally believed the renegade animal to be a kangaroo, but commenters on social media were quick to point out that it in fact seemed to be a wallaby.

"Right now, it's still on the loose, and we're appealing for anyone who sees it, or might own it, to come forward," Gloucestershire police told us.
