Kristin Chenoweth and Dove Cameron sandwich in their much taller co-star Jennifer Hudson while attending the Hairspray Live! For Your Consideration event held at the Saban Media Center on Friday (June 9) in North Hollywood.

The ladies were joined at the event by their co-stars Maddie Baillio, Garrett Clayton, Ephraim Sykes, Shahidi Wright Joseph, and original Hairspray star Ricki Lake.

The cast of the NBC live special is hoping to secure some Emmy nominations for the production!

Dove took to her Instagram Stories that day to belt out Beyonce‘s song “Listen” from Dreamgirls. Listen now on

Hairspray Live! is set for an encore tonight after it’s original air date earlier this month!

The show is star-studded, featuring some major names including Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, and many more. After months of rehearsal, the cast is finally ready to perform live for America. We’re so excited to see these characters come to life in our living room once again!

Hairspray Live might be over, but we’re still loving all of the photos and videos that the cast is sharing from their time together, including this one of Garrett Clayton singing one of Jennifer Hudson‘s signature songs!

Jennifer of course won an Oscar for her performance as Effie in Dreamgirls and Garrett tackled her song “And I Am Telling You” at the cast’s after party… while she watched.

Ariana Grande posted the video on her Instagram account and called it “quite possibly the best moment of my life….. i miss you already @garrettclayton1 so much.”

Nikki Blonsky, who played Tracy Turnblad in the 2007 movie, is reacting to the airing of Hairspray Live! last night!

The 28-year-old actress took to Instagram and wrote, “Congrats to the cast of @nbchairspraylive on a job well done from myself and the rest of the Hairspray Movie Cast! #SetLife #YouCantStopTheBeat”

Before the airing, Just Jared spoke with Nikki about what she’s currently up to and how she felt about the live show. Nikki did not make an appearance on the show, but two other past Tracy’s (Marissa Jaret Winokur and Ricki Lake) did!

“I’m thrilled that NBC has decided to put out a powerful musical with such a positive message for the country to see at such a pivotal point in our country’s history,” Nikki told JJ.

Is it any surprise that Jennifer Hudson sounded amazing while belting out “I Know Where I’ve Been” for Hairspray Live!?

The 35-year-old Oscar winner was surrounded by some of the ensemble cast, including Ariana Grande, Maddie Baillio, Garrett Clayton, and Shahidi Wright Joseph.
