Brisbane-born Sam Stosur – who didn’t make it past the first round of this year’s Australian Open – is no stranger to loss on the tennis court. But the tennis star has now had to accept defeat in the property world.

Stosur recently sold her investment property in Heeb St, Benowa on the Gold Coast at an $8,500 loss.

Sam Stosur’s Gold Coast villa sold in January.

The tennis star purchased the property in 2007 with her older brother Daniel for $508,500. They sold the home together in January for $500,000 to an Ipswich couple looking to downsize to the beach.

With tiles throughout, the spacious villa is low maintenance.

The three-bedroom villa has all the hallmarks of a sound investment, with its low maintenance garden, large sandstone courtyard and prime location in a quiet cul-de-sac opposite a park.
