I should have seen it coming. Sexy? Handsome? Trouble? Check, check, and check. Is he messing up my life? Hell yes. All the signs are he is a bad boy. Even his name is a lie. Too bad I married him. I can’t wait to get divorced. Does this make me sound crazy? I know I should avoid him, run as fast as I can. However, when a harmless misunderstanding lands me in a foreign prison cell, my dear, lying husband is the only one who can get me out. Crap. I shouldn’t accept.
But how to say no to trouble when said trouble is the one who makes me fantasize all the dirty things he could do to me?
***Full-length novel. No cliffhanger.*** Warning of side very bad boy who might cause heart palpitations! This sexy, funny, romantic novel is the last part of the An Indecent Proposal trilogy and can be read as a standalone.
Lauren married Chase for convenience so she could have access to the letters that her mother left her before she died. What she didn’t know was that Chase was not marrying her to help her but to help himself in his revenge against her step-father Clint. “His lips had consumed me. His touch burned me, his eyes shattered me. Burn and tear and destroy- that was how he broke me in a thousand pieces."
To be honest, I think this was a little disappointing. The fact that we don’t get to see the beginning of their relationship makes it pretty hard to connect with them. Everything happens in such a rush and then in the end things end up kind of unresolved.
On the bright side, I loved the mystery about the connection between Lauren and Chase’s families.
Laurie Hanson married for convenience and consummated it, made a deal, fell for him, and then figured out he might have a hidden agenda. So she took off on a little recovery trip.
But her trip just adds more drama and complications to her already disastrous life. And Chase is not going away so easily. He is the Mystery Guy, Bad Boy, Mr. F****** Liar, and Mr. Tall, Handsome, and Mysterious that she is trying to avoid. But at the same time she not only finds herself in need of help, but also really needs to confront him and get answers. He's got his reasons and his agenda. But what are they? Are they as nefarious as she seems to think?
This is a whirlwind adventure for Laurie as she tries to come to terms with what is really going on in her life since she made a deal with the devil, and to also face her past as she finally gets the answers she has been seeking. Not everything is how it seems and she has a lot to process.
These two have serious issues between them with the biggest one being lack of trust. But Chase can be very persistent. He's sexy, confident, pushy, and charismatic. And he makes good arguments. She has always been more shy, insecure, stubborn and introverted. So not only does she have to deal with feeling duped, but her own fears make it easier for her to believe he is nothing but insincere.
Chase may be a bit of a bad boy, a rule-breaker, and certainly was not completely honest, but I came to like him. He was magnetic and charming and at times I truly could see his vulnerability and wanted to believe him. But he will have his work cut out for him in trying to convince Laurie to give him another chance, trust him again, and be able to follow through with his plans.
There were definite mysteries, secrets, and lies throughout this series and this installment gives us all of the answers while bringing some twists and surprises. There was a lot going on in the background due to the current situations they found themselves in and to tie up all of the loose ends. I really enjoyed this crazy ride with Laurie, Chase and their side kicks. I liked trying to put it all together and seeing the true story unravel. It had humor, drama, passion, emotion, hidden motives, and mystery all layered into an interesting and unique story with flawed, but likable characters.

This is the third/final book in the series and should be read in series order.
Twenty four hours after her “fake” marriage to Chase Wright, Laurie Hanson is in Acapulco, Mexico trying to pick up the pieces of her messed up life. She shouldn’t have trusted him and she ran when information was revealed that he’s not who he says he is and what he’s really been after. Considering how she truly feels about him giving him a chance to explain was not an option, she can’t think straight in his presence. Trust was always an issue for her, with distance and much introspection Laurie hopes to regain her balance and the strength to divorce the gorgeous sexy man.
But can this woman get a break? No! A misunderstanding lands her in jail, alone in a foreign country where she doesn’t even speak the language, the only one who can help her is her husband. And Chase will take any reason he can to get her to hear his explanation. The time for no more lies has arrived but the story he has to tell won’t paint him in a good light, yet he hopes she can understand that he had to do what he did and it’s not finished yet. No matter how much she says it’s over, for him that’s not acceptable. She was an unexpected bonus in his plans. Can they survive the situation?
I loved this conclusion and these flawed yet very relatable characters. The story was sexy, amusing and suspenseful with unexpected twists. Laurie’s internal musings are so entertaining and I love the banter between her and Chase who doesn’t have to do much to confound her. Laurie, who had been sheltered for most of her life, really grows and stands by her decision no matter that it hurts her, time will tell if it was the right move. This book is in Laurie’s point of view which works beautifully but I would have liked to have Chase’s as well. There’s tragedy in his past, you can’t help but empathize with what he needed to do though his methods were questionable. Laurie’s in for some serious surprises regarding her family that help her find herself, the ending was most satisfying. I’m really going to miss these two characters.
Bad Boy is the 3rd in the Indecent Proposal Series and even though having no prior reading to the other books, this can be read as a standalone, one thing is that you might miss out on important information but it was clear in this one what had happened. This story is about Laurie and Chase. Laurie finds out Chase is not who he says he is. She is heartbroken, she was falling for him. She up and leaves him intending on getting a divorce, but now she needs him because she has been put in jail for "soliciting" in Mexico. Charges are completely false but this is a chance for Chase to explain his side of the story.
I enjoyed this story, loved the plot and thought the characters had alot of depth. I just wish I would have read the other stories, cause even though I enjoyed this, I wanted to know what really happened prior. All in all, this duo really knows their characters and how to tell a story. I cant wait to see what they come up with next!
Lordy Lordy Lordy Bad Boy is an amazing read. I love a bad boy they are so unpredictable. I mean who can withstand a sexy bad boy.....
Laurie Hanson finds herself marrying a bad boy that she didn't know was more than she could handle. See she marries Chase who is a bad boy but he is also a liar and leaves her in jail. She wakes up and realizes she has bitten off more than she can chew and she is pissed off because she is in jail and the only one who can save her is her lying bad boy husband.
Will Chase help Laurie get out of jail? Will he finally tell her the truth? Will their pretend marriage end up real?
This is such a crazy story that I laughed so much because Chase is a riot and Laurie let's just say that Chase had her heart after one night of crazy great sex!
dnf @ 57%. I tried with this book but it is the same as the second book just dragged out nothingness going round in circles. I skipped through to this point and actually can't read anymore and don't even care why he did it.
I should have seen it coming. Sexy? Handsome? Trouble? Check, check, and check. Is he messing up my life? Hell yes. All the signs are there: he is a bad boy. Even his name is a lie. •••••
REVIEW: 3.75 stars----BAD BOY is the third installment in JC Reed and Jackie Steele’s contemporary, adult AN INDECENT PROPOSAL romantic, suspense series focusing on Chase Wright, and Lauren Hanson. Their continuing story finds Lauren on the run from a man she knows nothing about. BAD BOY should not be read as a stand alone as the events in BAD BOY are as a result of the events in the first two installments.
SOME BACKGROUND: The focus is on Lauren’s need for a ‘fiance’. According to her mother’s will, in order to gain access to a set of letters her mother bequeathed upon her death, Laurie must be in a committed relationship before her twenty third birthday. Enter-handsome and mysterious actor Chase Wright-who easily accepts all of the conditions set out by Miss Hanson. What ensues is a game where Laurie becomes a pawn in a messy financial deal where her step father controls all of the moves, and Chase is the man to take him down.
Told from first person point of view (Lauren) BAD BOY focuses on the lies, secrets and revelations behind Chase’s appearance in Lauren’s life. At the end of book two-THE AGREEMENT-Lauren discovered that everything she thought she knew about Chase was a lie. He is a man with an end game, and Lauren is a means to that end. Lauren is on the run from the only man she has ever loved, and with it comes the truth about Chase’s need to keep Laurie in his life. What ensues is a battle of wills that finds Laurie in some dangerous situations trusting a man she knows very little about.
BAD BOY: An Indecent Proposal slowly reveals Chase’s secrets; his need to keep hidden the truth; and the depths to which he will go to get revenge against the man who destroyed his family and his life. Lauren’s life continues to unravel and with it comes the heartbreaking truth about her mother’s life, her mother’s will, and the man her mother once loved.
The world building continues to focus on Lauren and Chase’s relationship but the focus turns upon Chase’s need for revenge and retaliation. The relationship between our leading couple struggled through most of the story line-Lauren could no longer trust the man she thought she once loved; and Chase placated to the woman who was a business arrangement that would become something more.
I did have a couple of issues with this story line: the quick conflict resolution that fast forwards the story line fifteen months wherein we know few details about the who, what and why-all of the angst and anxiety is needless in the face of a blanket conclusion; and the appearance of Chase’s brother Kaiden –his role in the story felt more like a ‘red herring’ because there was never any resolution to his relationship with Lauren, and the secrets about his past.
BAD BOY is an entertaining story line but one that should not be read as a stand alone novel. The premise is intriguing; the characters are rebellious; the romance got lost in the story line conflict-sadly I felt the romance never got past a case of contractual duty.
Bad Boy starts off from where Indecent Proposal #2 left off. We see Lauren realising that her Husband "Chase" is not who he says he is and this sets alarm bell off in Lauren's head. Lauren does what she knows she has to do, RUN.
What we then discover is just how hurt Lauren is over what Chase has done but even though you read this and wonder in the first few chapters "what is he hiding" you can't help but wonder is there a mishap in communication somewhere, you can't help but want these two to settle things out so they can be together.
Lauren was determined to get as far away from Chase as possible, she needed to sort her head out and to figure out what the next step is and how she could go on with this 'Fake Marriage' without actually having to be with Chase. Things though don't always work out the way we want them and Lauren finds herself in a Mexican jail for no reason. Lauren does the only thing she can, she calls Jude her best friend to help her out but it is Chase who gets Lauren released.
Chase has some explaining to do, we know that and his story, well it broke my heart although I did think the reasons he did what he did to Lauren was a bit crap, the reason behind his actions I felt were understandable but he could have gone about it a completely different way. Deep down to me Chase is a good guy, he wants to do what is right for justice but he just doesn't do it the right way and he deceives poor Lauren.
As Lauren and Chase start to actually get to the truth of what is going on, we see Lauren more determined to go her own way, she is hurt, he has betrayed her but she does love him and she has to battle with all sorts of feelings. The biggest problem she has is she doesn't trust Chase anymore. She is not sure who to trust now.
Chase agrees that when they both get back to LA they will do what they need to in order for Lauren to get her mom's letters and then if she promises to stay with him for 12 months he will give her a divorce. As I said earlier, things don't always work out that way. Lauren has a heartbreaking moment when she receives a goodbye note from Chase and believe you me, I cried buckets at this point. Chase leaves earlier than Lauren as per agreed but after Lauren gets home she feels even more alone than she ever did.
Can she put everything aside and admit to Chase that she does love him still or does the hurt from the past keep getting in her way?
I loved this story and this series and the way JC Reed and Jackie Steele have written this last book keeps you even more engrossed than the last two books. The storyline and intrigue is great and such a joy to read.
If you have not read any of these books yet, I strongly advise you to do so. If you have read the last two books, then this one is not to be missed.
Bad Boy is the final book in the An Indecent Proposal series, and I have finally found time to pick it up. Each book has been building up and after what happened in the previous book I’ve been excited to see what would happen next between Laurie and Chase, would Chase come clean, could Laurie forgive him and could they work through it?
Laurie began to really annoy me in this final book, I know that she wanted to get space, but when Chase was there she just didn’t seem to listen. I just wanted her to shut up and let Chase explain what was going on. She was causing all this drama that she could’ve worked through easier if she just let him tell her what she needed to know.
I loved Chase though; through everything he was patient with Laurie, waited for her to absorb the information overload, and continued to show her how much he wanted her despite the deception that she put her through. I could see that he cared deeply for her, even though it wasn’t his intention.
Even Laurie’s BF did something that would’ve had my hackles raised, even if Chase was such a good looking guy and seemed normal via message, she shouldn’t have done that. However, she was a good friend to Laurie and was always there to support her.
The story line was good, even though Laurie got on my nerves at times. Laurie and Chase tried hard to get on the same page in regards to her family and entitlements. Chase proved his love over and over, but Laurie found it hard to get past the hurt and what she has been told all her life. The ending felt a little rushed, and I would’ve liked to see more of Laurie and Chase, and see them face it all together. The epilogue wrapped things up quickly and in the end it was a good conclusion to the series.

5 Stars: What a tangled web we weave when we first live to deceive.....
My absolute favorite and will read again and again. I strongly recommend! It has outstanding qualities. The characters are wonderful and surprising and multi-dimensional. The writing is luring, engaging, and well-crafted enough to keep me interested from cover to cover and beyond. The plot is astonishing with twists and turns weaved into a well thought and planned story. There’s no pretense and romance was well balanced and done entirely correctly with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors and incredible, undeniable chemistry. Predictability is at an all-time low. With the exception of series based books that follow the same path but are just as good. Overall, Favorite, must read again, recommend!!!
Laurie Hanson just got married and slept with her new husband. It as supposed to be a pretend marriage with no sex, but she gave in to temptation only to flee the next day because she found out nothing he told her was true. Finding herself in jail was not what Laurie expected and when her husband Chase shows up, he wants her to return with him.
Laurie doesn't know who she can trust, everything about her life is a tangled web who can she turn to? Is Chase worth taking another chance on?
The third in the Indecent Proposal series. This story took a turn I was not expecting. Riveting end for a addictive series.
I loved this book! It was amazing. I laughed, I cried and I felt turmoil. Chase is a darling and Lauren is strong. Clint was worthless and I'm glad how things turned out for him. Jude is an amazing best friend anyone would be happy to have. I can't wait for the next books these ladies write! Enjoy! I did!
The wait is finally over!! I absolutely fell in love with this series when I read the first book, The Interview. By the time the second book came out, I had read it three times. After a very long and anxious wait, The Agreement came out and it was just as good as the first, maybe even better because we got some new twists and turns in the story that were kind of unexpected. Now, finally we have the last book in the series, Bad Boy! Thank goodness the wait wasn’t very long for this or I think I would have given up. For me, the beginning of this book was a little slow with very little action, compared to the last two, but sticking with it was worth it, because little did I know at the time, the parts that I believed were slow was just build up for what was to come with the rest of this book. This is why I tell people to give a book a chance, because sometimes what you think means nothing and that it is just words filling up pages, well those turn into very important words and parts to the story. Let’s face it, in “real life”, some days just move at a slower pace than others, they can’t all be action packed and filled with life changing moments. In the beginning of this book, I was starting to dislike Chase for the first time since I began reading the series. But by the end he had redeemed himself and was back to being one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time. I would have liked to have seen a little more “between the sheets” action, but hey, that’s just because I couldn’t seem to get enough of Chase. These authors did an amazing job with this series, keeping it suspenseful and fun to read. I am looking forward to reading much more from them. Now, I am off to sign up for this author’s newsletter because I want to know more about Kade! If you want to know more about Chase and Laurie and find out who the heck Kade is, you need to give this series a shot. I loved it and I hope you do to!
Laurie Hanson made a huge mistake. Chase Wright is that huge mistake. Her fake husband, her fake marriage and all the lies she discovered have her running to Mexico. Now that huge mistake has her in jail for soliciting.
Chase Wright is the only one to help his wife, Laurie. Chase is the last person in the world that Laurie wants to see in Mexico. Hell, he is the reason she is in Mexico to begin with. He is full of surprises yet seems to be the only way to clear up this misunderstanding. Laurie wants nothing more than to just get through the next 12 months without having to deal with Chase, at all. Yet while in Mexico, Chase finally helps Laurie connect all the dots and puts the entire relationship, which is based on lies, together. Chase not only put it all in perspective for her, he even gives her the two things she needs the most…her mother’s necklace and the letters her mom wrote to her. Even after putting all the pieces together and Chase professing his love for her, Laurie still decides to close the door on their relationship.
Bad Boy is the third book in the Indecent Proposal Series. This can be read as a standalone; however, you miss most of the important information needed to have this story make sense. I have not read any of the other books in this series and it took me to almost the end of the book to thoroughly understand what was going on. I feel as though I was missing pertinent bits of information reading this story. It does seem to be that all the truths are finally revealed in this book.
One thing I did not like was how abruptly it seemed to end. It went from “I can’t do this” to “I miss you” and all the sudden, all was forgiven and life is wonderful. I feel like there was more to the story of what actually happened while taking Laurie’s step-father to court. That being said, I will be starting this series with the first book so I can put it all together.
I give Bad Boy (An Indecent Proposal #3) 3.5 stars
Chase Wright can be my bad boy any day!!! What a beautiful and emotional ending to the Indecent Proposal series! It's a heartbreaking journey for Laurie and Chase! All the secrets and lies are revealed in this final conclusion and it's one hell of a ride! I freaking LOVE Chase. His confidence/arrogance is funny and such a turn on! Laurie has a battle on her hands - trying to resist Chase when their chemistry is off the charts and trying to protect her heart especially after everything that has happened. Don't want to spoil the story so I will just say that this is a MUST read! The suspense will have you flipping the pages til the end! You will fall in love with Laurie and Chase's story. 5+ star read on the entire series!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.
4.5 Stars So we pick up where we left off in book 2 Laurie has discovered that her new husband Chase isn't who she thought he was and she realises he has an ulterior motive for helping her out and becoming her fake husband, but does she really know all the facts and is running away really the answer to her problems. It may be a fake marriage but both Laurie and Chase are developing real feelings for each other can they overcome everything that's been thrown at them and finally get their HEA?
A great conclusion to this series and I loved how the ending played out I'm excited to see what JC Reed and Jackie Steele give us next.
The conclusion to the romance that started with a lie and ends with a revelation all wrapped up in a sexy bow. Chase and Laurie take you on another ride that is their relationship. Their are revelations that will make you head spin. Confessions that will have you heart breaking. Passion that will have you heated and an ending that bring a huge smile to you face. Yup Jessica has done it again, given us a book that you can't put down until you solve the mystery that is within the covers. A mystery that wraps our couple so close you can't tell where one ends and one begins. Chase and Laurie are perfection in their imperfect relationship!
I am still not a Laurie fan. I think she was a very immature heroine and I just couldn't see the allure of her and why Chase was always trying to hard with her. BUT....I will say, I really felt sorry for her when you found out why Chase had chosen to get together with her. You could definitely see that he really did develop feelings for her but the reasoning behind his original meetings was very hurtful and selfish. I really wanted to hate him but kind of still had a soft spot for him because Laurie got on my last fucking nerve. Anway...good ending to this series.
Steamy? Check. Tantalizing and intriguing? Check. Keep you up at night to finish? Check. I can't say enough about this fantastic series by J.C. Reed and Jackie Steele. Laurie and Chase are fiery, both in and out of the sheets, and it picks up where book 2 ended. Questions are answered, and secrets are revealed in Bad Boy. The ending was pure perfection for this passionate couple. If you haven't yet met Chase, you don't know what you are missing. This brooding bad boy will steal your heart and make you jealous of Laurie. Run, don't walk to this book!
Another amazing read! The ending was perfect. I loved how it all played out. I've grown to love Laurie and Chase and am sad it is all over. If you haven't had to chance to read this series, your missing out on a great couple who started out when Laurie hired Chase to be her fake fiancé, then fake husband. They hit ALOT of bumps on the road. Some of which were heartbreaking and Laurie could only do what she felt was right.
It's all made clear now, but poor Laurie has to decide...can her and Chase's feelings be real if their relationship was built on lies?? I understood her struggle to determine the answer for that. Secrets are revealed. Questions are answered and lives are changed.
Loved this series so far. This books sums up a lot of all your questions from Mystery Man, truth about her mother, her grandparents secrets, Kaden her long lost half brother who still never finds out, and Chases real reason for helping Laurie. Next book is about Kalen ( adopted brother to Chase but half brother to Laurie.)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Glad to see the relationship between the two characters have grown. I do hope Kade get his own story and I hope her friend Jude will be his love interest. Hopefully I will see Chase and Laurie again.
Finally, the jigsaw pieces start to come together! I stand by my previous comments though - this whole series could have been one good book and far less drawn out.
First: I DNF this book. I liked the first 2 books in the series just fine (and other books from J.C. Reed). But this was a deal breaker on so many levels I don't WANT to read on and see their happy ending. I do like me some bad boys. I like them arrogant and overbearing (and everything else a stereotypical male macho is made of) but this... It wouldn't have been so bad, if Laurie didn't turn out as a woman without any kind of selfrespect.
I'm at 27% I want to slap Laurie so hard I might scream my head off because I can't. He fucked up so bad the first thing I would've done seeing him is punch him in the face and kick him in the nuts. Not all that blubbering bullshit about I don't feel anything for you. As if anyone would fall for that crap. And his arrogance! The insolence he has talking that way to her after everything he has done! The smug asshole! I'd punch that stupid grin off his face until his teeth fell out! Laurie! You weak stupid girl! Really? After everything you still lust after him without any kind of control? I just lost any respect I held for you! I'm exploding, I want to stop reading this damn book because she can't just tell Chase/Kade/whoever the fuck he is to go fuck himself.
30% Are you fucking kidding me? He's making fun of you! He's belittling you! He says yes und you say no, if he'd say no you'd say yes! If he'd ask you to jump all you'd do is ask how high. You pathetic lapdog! Grow a spine will you!
34% I give up. I can't. I don't want to. This makes my skin crawl in shame. She'll only believe everything he says without using her brain once, as she did up til now. Congratulations: Laurie just managed to make this book 1 out of 3 books in my life that I could'nt finish.
Very much enjoyed the book and the story as a whole. I would have preferred them all in one book. Splitting them in 3 books didn't feel right. It was awkward. It didn't feel like a series but a single book split in three.
