Why does your mom rock?
My mother, Linda Danielson, has a beautiful soul. She is my best friend, my biggest cheerleader, and the person I turn to in times of joy, sorrow, uncertainty, for advice and whenever I need a good laugh.
My mother has only two children, my brother and me, because she is a cervical cancer survivor – a disease that took the lives of both her mother and maternal grandmother. She is also grandmother to three rowdy, loving and adorable grandsons, one of which she is helping raise.
Through the daily trials and tribulations of life, as well as the larger bumps in the road, my mom has held the family together. Through every triumph she has been there, cheering us all on; through every hardship she has been there as a shoulder to cry on, sometimes needing one herself – there is beauty in being able to admit you, the matriarch, also need support sometimes.
My mom rocks in so many ways! She loves her family and friends fiercely, protects her children and grandchildren like a lioness, and has supported my dad through career changes, three degrees and in everything he has ever wanted to pursue. She epitomizes what a good mother should be, and is the woman I try to emulate everyday as a mother myself.
