WEATHER ALERT: Heavy Rain, Some Thunderstorms, Flooding Possible Today in Cortlandt, Peekskill
"It's going to be a soaker later today, Hudson Valley," says Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
The National Weather Service updated its hazardous weather outlook this morning, focusing on the possibility of flash flooding.
...”the heaviest rainfall is expected in the southern part of the Hudson Valley,” said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. “On the whole… it’s wise to say that the entire Hudson Valley could see over 1 inch of rain from this event… with some areas possibly seeing upwards of 2 inches, if a band of heavy rain persists and moves slowly.”

AccuWeather predicts much of the Northeast will return to drier weather on Friday.
“While the wet weather will disrupt outdoor activities and there can be incidents of flash flooding, lawns and crops will get a welcome soaking where rainfall has been lacking recently,” AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski said.

However, we can also expect showers on Friday morning and then clouds in the afternoon.
If you have outdoor plans, hopefully it’s on Saturday as the National Weather Service is predicting sunshine and temps in the mid to upper 70s.
Late Saturday, rain is expected and it could continue off-and-on for all of Sunday. The rain chance on Sunday is 50 percent.
The good news is that temps, which were in the 90s all week, will not exceed 80 degrees today—and that trend continues for the next several days.
