Tucker, who has had a successful 40-year career in country music, will be performing an acoustic concert at the Tarrytown Music Hall on Friday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m.
"We're going to be stripping it down," Tucker said. "It's going to be a little more intimate, kind of a conversation with music and song. Don't expect me to jump all over the stage. I'm going to be hitting all of my major songs and just having fun."
Tucker, best known for the 1972 hit "Delta Dawn," said she simply wanted to break down her songs and do them in a different way
"The songs will be important as opposed to the production," Tucker said. "We're going to be getting into the nitty gritty, mistakes and all. The mistakes are some of the best music ever."
The country star told the word they were going to be hearing from her in a Rolling Stone cover feature in 1974.
"I didn't know it was going it to be such a big deal," Tucker said. "All these years later, you're still hearing from me now."
Today, Tucker still has a large playlist of country music, and loves listening to people like Merle Haggard, Dellan McClintock, Eric Clapton and Chuck Cannon. Her faith in God has also played a big part in her life.
"I've always had Him and He's always had me," Tucker said. "He's been directing a lot of this. I let him live through me."
Tucker said she was enjoying gallivanting with her horses but decided to go on tour to see her fans. She said her band is excited to visit New York and they are hoping to squeeze in a trip to New York City.
"New York has always been so great to me," Tucker said.
Tucker said her fans, who have supported her for more than 40 years, mean everything to her.
"It's just a wonderful thing when I see people standing up and singing my songs," Tucker said. "Sometimes they drown me out."
