Port Chester Native Anthony Valbiro Directs "Mothers and Sons," a Play Appearing at the Whippoorwill Theatre in Armonk

Valbiro is celebrating 50 years in show business.

Anthony Valbiro, the director for the drama ”Mothers and Sons,” now on stage at the Whippoorwill Theatre in Armonk, is celebrating 50 years in show business. Valbiro is a Port Chester native and resident.

The play is about a mother who, 20 years after the death of her son, visits her son’s former partner and his young son. It is a difficult and confrontational reunion set in a Manhattan apartment.

“Mothers and Sons” was written by by four-time Tony-winning playwright Terrence McNally.

The cast members are Nathan Ilany, Brian Metz, Misti Tindiglia and Adam Welsh.

Valbiro is also a singer, set creator and mural painter. He designed and constructed the Halloween and Christmas exhibits at the Lyndhurst estate in Tarrytown.
