Fox‘s “Rocky Horror Picture Show” is filling out with the addition of Christina Milian, who’s been cast in the role of Magenta, Variety has learned.
Milian — who stars on Fox’s “Grandfathered” — joins the star-studded cast that includes Laverne Cox, Victoria Justice, Ryan McCartan, Adam Lambert, Reeve Carney, Staz Nair, Annaleigh Ashford and original “Rocky Horror” vet Tim Curry, who returns as the narrator.
Fox’s version of “Rocky Horror” is a reimagining of the cult classic, which has the longest-running release in film history. The story follows sweethearts Janet (Justice) and Brad (McCartan), who stumble upon Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s (Cox) bizarre abode. Along with the help of his faithful servants Riff Raff (Carney) and Magenta (Milian), Frank-N-Furter, a sexually ambiguous, flirtatious alien mad-scientist is holding an annual, Transylvanian science convention to showcase the birth of “Rocky Horror” (Nair), a fit, attractive man created solely to fulfill Frank’s desires.
Magenta is the castle’s compliant maid who, along with her brother Riff Raff, plots a secret plan to return to their native planet of Transsexual. Magenta was played by Patricia Quinn in the original stage production of “Rocky Horror” and the 1975 film.

Aside from starring on “Grandfathered,” Milian has appeared in “Be Cool,” “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and more films and TV shows. A Grammy-nominated musician, she is currently signed with Lil Wayne’s Young Money/Cash Money/Universal label, and also as her own E! reality series “Christina Milian Turned Up,” which just wrapped its second season. She also gained prominence as the social media correspondent on the early seasons of “The Voice,” and as a contestant on Season 17 of “Dancing with the Stars.” She is repped by WME.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” hails from Fox 21 Television Studios and The Jackal Group. Lou Adler, Gail Berman and Kenny Ortega are exec producers with Ortega directing and choreographing. Though not live, “Rocky Horror” marks the latest musical event for Fox, which is basking in the critical and ratings success of this past weekend’s “Grease Live.”
The two-hour “Rocky Horror” special airs this fall on Fox.
