do nightlies update via OTA or do we need to keep flashing the new version every 24 hours?
Settings - About phone - Cyanogenmod updates.
and you dont have to flash every nightly.
you can do once a week or once a month or whatever u want.

Good thing they're working on it, but I much rather have worse battery life than touch screen problems.
Good news, I was just asking Artem Russakovskii (from Androidpolice.com) on Google+ through Hangouts if he could forward the issue to Steve Kondik.
It is already being worked on! Also Steve Kondik reverted the Firmware for the Nightlies for the time being until they get an updated Firmware which fixes the drain:

I'm not seeing this battery drain at all.
Are you sure it's nothing to do with the truly dtsi update that happened at the same time as the TS fw update.
I don't use gestures, but do use dt2w.
As you can see if had music on most of the day (6 hours at work)
With just coming up on 3 hours screen time
Yep, I see that. Plus there are a lot of commits to the kernel for the next nightly. I'm probably going to self build just since the Sunday night nightly seems to be later due to the weekly CM11 builds being due.
And the comment here is encouraging since I use BT:

I would be grateful if you could maybe share your build (with updated touch firmware?).
Thanks
Are you using the new firmware with the increased drain?Latest changes and new firmware.

You can disable double tap to wake if you dont need it. No I can't please everyone. Are you using the new firmware with the increased drain?
Reason I ask is I was hoping for tonight's build without the draining kernel. Any chance you could post that?
Just the kernel is fine that is, don't expect you to re upload a whole ROM
I don't suffer from touch screen issues so I rather have tap to wakeYou can disable double tap to wake if you dont need it. No I can't please everyone.
Bunch of kernel changes

And, on today nightly, still unnamed process with changing icon drains my battery. So basically, nothing changed from yesterday.
can anyone who previously had touch problems confirm?Reverted touch firmware. So the touch should be worse now..Battery life should be improved.
can anyone who previously had touch problems confirm?
I'll gladly keep the battery drain for now to have a working phone
CyanogenMod tries to build a new, fresh "nightly" version every 24 hours for each of the devices it supports, which includes the most up-to-date changes to the source code, provided from all over the Internet. Of course, the nightly builds may also contain newly-introduced bugs, but hey- if you feel adventurous, you can help make CyanogenMod better by trying these experimental builds and reporting back bugs to the developers.
1. If you didn't wipe cache / dalvik-ART from recovery when you flashed 12.1 over 12.0, go back and do that first.
2. If you still have FCs, go to Settings » Apps, find the offending app and click Clear data.
3. Still no go, time to do a factory reset.
post to androidfilehost, that seems like a great place for a rom.
Exactly some number of minutes after soon.
