FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots fans will be on Rob Gronkowski watch over the next two days.

The Patriots’ star tight end wasn’t spotted at the beginning of practice Thursday. Gronkowski also didn’t practice Tuesday but was present Monday and Wednesday.

Gronkowski popped back onto the Patriots’ injury report Wednesday with a knee ailment. He previously was removed from the injury report Dec. 24.

Patriots linebacker Jonathan Freeny (hand) and rookie guard Tre’ Jackson (knee) also were absent for the Patriots’ fourth practice of the week.

The Patriots play the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday at 4:35 p.m. ET. The Patriots will release official injury reports Thursday and Friday around 5 p.m. ET.

The Patriots practiced Thursday on the Gillette Stadium game field because, “It’s as close as we can get to game conditions — can’t get any closer than that,” head coach Bill Belichick said.
