Google has permanently slashed $30 off its new Nexus 5X, reducing its starting price to just $349 only four months after the handset made its official debut. The move makes it even easier for Android fans to get their hands on Google’s latest OS — without third-party tweaks.

The Nexus 5X may not be the most exciting Nexus launched in 2015 — that title goes to the Nexus 6P — but with pure Android, excellent specifications, and a great design, it’s still a terrific device for those who like more compact handsets, or have a budget to contend with.

And now that budget’s going to take an even smaller hit. With $30 off, the Nexus 5X now starts at just $349 with 16GB of storage through the Google Store, while the 32GB model is down to $399. The mirrors the reduction Google made for the holidays, but this time it’s permanent.

Sadly, the Nexus 6P isn’t getting a similar price cut — at least not yet — which means the gap between the entry-level Nexus and the high-end one is now even bigger at $100.
