Avengers: Infinity War Will Unite Marvel Universe

Marvel has big plans for its cinematic universe, as The Avengers: Infinity War aims to unify the studio's comic book properties like never before.

"The concept of Infinity War is that the Marvel universe unites to battle the greatest threat to the world and universe that you’ve ever seen, and we’re going to honor that concept," Infinity War co-director Joe Russo told ComicBook.com.

While Russo wouldn't confirm whether or not the Guardians of the Galaxy would be appearing in the upcoming two-part film, he did say that fans "will not be disappointed in the amount of characters in the movie."

In fact, the Russo brothers teased the film's massive cast at Wizarding World New Orleans (via ComicBookMovie), saying, "We have so many characters we’re dealing with. We're breaking ground on Avengers: Infinity War. We have a board with 67 characters on it."

The pair of directors also said they plan to further explore the cosmic side of the MCU and incorporate elements of "psychological realism," with that serving as their focus as they move forward with Infinity War.

Marvel's The Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 is set to open in theaters on May 4, 2018. According to executive producer Jeremy Latcham, the two-part film epic will mark the end for some of Marvel's mighty team.
