What is Noom Coach?

Noom Coach is a mobile application that promotes long-term weight loss by helping users build healthy, sustainable lifestyle habits.

Upon signup, a user enters their gender, age, height, current weight, goal weight, and desired weight loss speed. In turn, they receive a personalized calorie budget to help them reach their goal over time. Easy Food Logging and Food Database:

Noom Coach has the most reliable and extensive food database with over 3.7 million food pair options., The food database includes a large number of brand names, cultural foods, and meals from over 850 restaurants and chains. Users can also search for over 200,000 food items by simply scanning the barcode. To make the logging process as seamless as possible, Noom provides a number of portion sizes to choose from. From grams and ounces to handfuls or bowls. They also include a handy visual guide in-app with intuitive units like a list or a deck of cards to help users understand how much they're eating and log food more accurately. Users can save their favorite meals, create custom dishes, and based on foods logged, the app can predict what users are likely to log next, making the process even more straightforward.

Traffic Light Food System:

Noom's unique and proprietary “color system” guides and gives users feedback on their food choices to identify simple ways to improve their diet each day! Noom uses volumetrics as the

basis of categorizing foods, then also factors in the concentration of healthy and unhealthy nutrients in the foods. “Green foods” (including non-starchy vegetables and fruits) are the least calorie-dense and contain the highest concentration of healthy nutrients, and should make up the bulk of your diet. “Red foods” (including packaged foods and dessert dishes) are the most calorie-desnse and contain the lowest concentration of healthy nutrients, and should be eaten in small quantities. Noom allows users to log their exercise and track their calorie burn. The app also has a built-in pedometer that allows them to see how active they are throughout the day.

Noom can also sync with a wide range of wearables including Fitbit, Jawbone, Garmin, and many more, so to keep track of users' activity hands free! For the extra health conscious, the app also allows users to monitor their blood pressure and/or blood glucose.

Groups (Healthy Weight Course)
