According to Basic Math, Pluto is Hotter Than Justin Bieber

Proportionally speaking, of course.

Today, we finally got a look at the surface of Pluto—and damn, is it beautiful! NASA, ever the social networking butterfly, posted a photo to Instagram showing it off in all its glory.

This post, from yesterday, has 1.2 million likes. Yes, that's more than this morning's profile of Pluto, but take into account that Bieber has 33 million followers. That means Bieber has nearly 30 million more people obsessing over his every 'grammable moment than NASA does (for reasons too painful to discuss). So the fact that NASA is only 977,000 little hearts of approval behind the Biebs is downright impressive—proportionally speaking, in fact, NASA's photo of Pluto is more popular than the poolside Canadian.
