About the author
Desiree is a registered dietitian, the host of TV’s The Urban Vegetarian and author of the bestselling new plant-based cookbook, Eat More Plants. Her work has been featured in People Magazine, Eating Well Magazine, Family Circle, Parade, KTLA, WGN Chicago, Hallmark Home and Family, USA Today, Well+Good and MindBodyGreen.
Desiree believes that food is the most delicious medicine; the way we choose to nourish our bodies can absolutely transform our lives. She runs a private practice in Vancouver, Canada with a focus on complex chronic digestive and inflammatory disease and plant-based approaches to optimal health and she has seen so many success stories from adopting a more whole food, plant-based approach with her clients.
Desiree spends most of her time in the kitchen with her two little sous chefs, puttering in her little vegetable garden or enjoying the nature that surrounds Vancouver. Having grown up learning to cook at her grandmother's apron strings, Desiree finds enormous joy in the kitchen and wants to share this joy with others.
