Updated at 5:38 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015: The remains of Val Horsa and his wife, Taew Horsa, have been found, according to their son, Eric Horsa of Ridgefield.

News 12 reports that the South Salem couple’s remains are being taken to the Westchester Medical Examiner’s office.

Debris and parts of the small plane they were flying in have been recovered, but the search for the rest of the plane will resume Saturday.

Updated at 12:55 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015: Val Horsa, the pilot, and his wife, Taew Horsa, have been identified by their son as the two people aboard the missing plane bound for Danbury Airport, reports The Journal News.

Eric Horsa says his mother and father were returning from a trip to Mississippi when the plane disappeared. Divers have found a seat and wheels from the plane, which is believed to have plunged into Titicus Reservoir Thursday afternoon.

The couple own Danbury’s Bangkok Thai Restaurant, according to Horsa, who also told The Journal News that his father has been a pilot since 1985.

Authorities are continuing the search for the plane and the couple.

Original story: New York state police and other law enforcement and emergency personnel are continuing to search Titicus Reservoir in North Salem Friday for a missing plane that is believed to have gone in the area late Thursday afternoon.

“Danbury Airport reported that a 1971 Cessna lost contact with the airport at approximately 4:30 p.m. as it approached their runway,” said New York state police in a statement. “The aircraft reportedly lost radar contact with the airport, placing the Cessna just south of the Titicus Reservoir.”

The airport is about 20 minutes away from the reservoir, where debris from the plane has been discovered. Divers from the New York state police and the state Department of Environmental Protection are in the midst of searching the reservoir.

It has been a busy week for police activity at the reservoir. Earlier this week, state police divers searched its waters for clues in the Nov. 9 killing of North Salem’s Lois Colley, the 83-year-old Titicus Road resident who was found bludgeoned to death in her home near the lake.
