A crisp glass of chilled sangria is one of my favorite summer sippers, especially when it’s made with my favorite wine, rosé. The thing is, when the temps begin to drop, all I want is a cozy mug of something warm, spicy and just a touch boozy.
This winter version combines elements of my favorite warm-weather beverage with the toasty spice of traditional mulled wine. It’s fruity, a bit sweet, lightly spiced and a touch less rich than red wine versions, but equally as warming. Plus, it’s super easy to make for a crowd in your slow cooker.
To begin, gather your ingredients: rosé, apple cider, cranberry juice, bourbon, sugar, vanilla bean, an orange, cinnamon sticks and cloves.
Combine everything in your slow cooker, give it a quick stir and set it on high for two hours (up to four). Serve it by the ladleful with whole cranberries, cinnamon sticks, orange and apple slices for garnish. Cheers!
