Marie A. Boccuzzi, 85; Lifelong Stamford Resident Who Worked for Union Trust Bank and Darien High School

Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 12 with the funeral scheduled for Monday, April 13.

Marie A. Boccuzzi, 85, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away Wednesday April 8, 2015 at Stamford Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Marie was born in Stamford on March 15, 1930. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Boccuzzi, Sr. and the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pelli Cognetta.

A graduate of Stamford High School, Marie worked at Union Trust Bank and in the Darien High School cafeteria, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of her coworkers. She was a longtime member of the St. Mary’s Rosary Society and she loved being involved in all of their activities.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Wynne and her husband Neil; her son Frank and his wife Jen, and her beloved grandchildren; Neil, Valerie, Jane, Frankie and Joseph. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Besides her parents and her husband, Marie is predeceased by her sister Rae Tornatore.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Sunday April 12, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT on Monday April 13, 2015 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.

Marie’s family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood at Strawberry Hill in Norwalk, St. Camillus and Stamford Hospital for their loving care and kindness during her last days.
