Friday Night Lights alumna Minka Kelly has been cast opposite Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan in Hulu original drama series The Path from Jason Katims’ True Jack Prods. It’s a reunion of sorts for Kelly and Katims: He wrote and executive produced the hit series Friday Night Lights, on which Kelly appeared for three seasons. Also joining the cast of The Path is Oscar nominee Kathleen Turner (Peggy Sue Got Married).
Created by Jessica Goldberg, The Path examines a couple, Eddie (Paul) and Sarah Cleary (Monaghan), at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. Kelly, repped by Untitled Entertainment and CAA, will play Miranda Frank, the beautiful cult member Sarah suspects Eddie of having an affair with. Turner is Brenda Roberts, the estranged mother of cult leader Cal Roberts (Hugh Dancy).
The Path started production last week in New York. The 10-episode series is slated to premiere in early 2016.
