Peekskill Woman Faces Drug Charges after Traffic Stop

State police didn't say what traffic infractions caused them to pull her over.

State Police say there were multiple traffic infractions that caused them to stop a vehicle on I-87 June 26.

However, what the driver now faces are all drug charges.

The driver, Nicole S. Cabral, 21 of Peekskill, NY was found to be impaired by drugs and in possession of 12 Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills.

Cabral was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital where she submitted to a blood draw to determine the drug content of her blood. Cabral was charged with:

  • Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Unclassified Misdemeanor
  • Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Class A Misdemeanor

Cabral was arraigned at the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1000 bond.
