    Hello,
I’m having trouble with my twitter feed not updating. I read the prior post on this subject and it looks like my WPCron is not working properly so I changed the cache mode to intense as previously suggested however this did not resolve the problem. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

I have found the only way to make the tweets refresh is to clear the cache manually however obviously I’ld like this to happen automatically.

    Hi,

It could be that your server has some restrictions on wp-cron.php. Can you try setting the caching mode to Intense via Dashboard -> Fetch Tweets -> Settings -> Cache -> Cache Settings -> Caching Mode?

    Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply but I tried that already.

It might be something to do with a caching plugin. Can you try disabling caching pluigns? Also the browser caching can display the same contents so try accessing the page with a different browser.

I don’t have a caching plugin installed so that’s not it. I tried it in different browsers and in private mode and no change. Thanks again for the help, I really like the plugin otherwise.

    Let’s create a test rule.

Can you try creating a rule by search with the search term, #WordPress and the cache duration of 0.

Reload the preview page (Dashboard -> Fetch Tweets -> Manage Rules -> (the created rule in the listing table) -> View) and see if the tweets get updated.

Okay, I did the test case as you suggested, it didn’t update.

It could be the API rate limit exhaustion. Can you check if any of the items is run out via Dashboard -> Fetch Tweets -> Settings -> Authentication -> Request Limits?

    Looks fine.

Can you try temporarily disabling the other plugins and switching to the WordPress default theme? And see if the tweets of the test search rule get updated.

    Thread Starter KonaJeff

    (@konajeff)

Okay, I did those things. Still not updating though.

    Plugin Author miunosoft

    (@miunosoft)

Double-check the caching mode is Intense while disabling the other plugins and switching to the default theme.

    Thread Starter KonaJeff

    (@konajeff)

Yep, double checked everything, switched over to default theme (twenty-fifteen), plugins disabled, cache mode -intense. Retried on browser with clean cache.

Then only thing that has worked is if I clear the cache manually within your plugin.

    Plugin Author miunosoft

    (@miunosoft)

Try reloading the page after a while about 30 seconds. The cache is renewed in the background so in order to see renewed tweets, you need to load the page at least twice.

Double-check you have 0 for the cache duration option for the test rule.

Thank you so much for the help! I switched themes to ‘twenty sixteen’ and it seems to be working beautifully. I’ll mark this one as resolved. Great plugin!
