I love how the aluminum on this drive matches that of my MacBook Air. I use this drive for extra storage and backups (I have it partitioned into two). I can't wait until WD releases the WD Security fix so that the drive password is once again able to be auto-unlocked under Yosemite Mac OS X 10.10. I contacted WD, and they say they are working on it. :)

This Passport was extremely easy for my daughter to use to transfer and back up thousands of photos she brought back from a trip overseas on her iPhone, Apple laptop and a memory card she had used with her Sony camera. All worked immediately with this Passport for Mac. I had previously used a Passport with a Windows OS with ease. Being on sale it was a great value for money.

I am very happy with this purchase. I have several WD external hard drives and all of them are great. I especially like that I can format it for mac os extended and do not have to use WD software that comes with the drive. The software may be a wonderful product too, but I couldn't comment. I've never used it. This is a great product for a great price and I am already considering purchasing another one. I will either purchase this again or a similar WD HD.

Wanted a no-fuss external drive for my MacBook. This is superfast and perfect. There was nothing to setup before using since it's already HFS+ format but same price as NTFS version. Also, being silver it matches my MacBook so I can instantly tell it apart from my other drives. A no-brainer purchase.

this is my 2nd wd external hard drive. 1st one was 1TB. both are great stuff. work quickly, very small, i.e. portable. i use it as a time machine and i store my picture on it. when i travel and need them for work and/or pleasure i can access them even with being connected to wifi (i back up my laptop primarily on the external hard drive accessible thru internet).
