How to get Quiet back in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Players who have sneaked their way through the entirety of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain know that, at some point, one of your more valuable sidekicks leaves Mother Base and can no longer be deployed as a buddy during missions. But as of today, thanks to the game's latest patch, that's no longer the case.

[Note: Spoilers for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain follow.]

After players complete mission 45 of The Phantom Pain, they'll no longer have the option to bring Quiet along on missions. That's something of a hassle, considering how valuable she is as a partner in the field and how many side ops and mission replays players still have at that point in the game.

However, with The Phantom Pain's November software update, players can now recover Quiet and fight alongside her once again. All you need to do is replay mission 11, "Cloaked in Silence," seven times. The name of that mission will change to "[Reunion] Cloaked in Silence," and after completing it, Quiet will return to Mother Base with all of her researched weapons and items intact.

Players of the PC version of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain have had the unofficial option to play as Quiet after she leaves the game, thanks to a mod. But now players on console have that luxury too.

More details on the game's latest patch are available at Konami's official site.
