The American entrepreneur - who died on October 5, 2011 - said he was "never" going to accept a portion of the now head, 54, of the technology giant's liver, despite him being a match.

In Becoming Steve Jobs, a new book by Brent Schlender and Rick Tetzeli, it details Tim's decision to get tested for a partial transplant just months before Steve's death.

Fast Company published an exert from the upcoming release, with quotes from Tim suggesting his boss didn't even think about saying yes.

Speaking about the moment he told him he could donate, Tim said: "He cut me off at the legs, almost before the words were out of my mouth.

"'No,' he said. 'I'll never let you do that. I'll never do that.'"

Tim - who later succeeded him at Apple - added: "And this was during a time when things were just terrible. Steve only yelled at me four or five times during the 13 years I knew him, and this was one of them."

A biopic about Steve's life is currently in production too, starring Michael Fassbender, Seth Rogen and Kate Winslet.

The yet untitled movie is being directed by Danny Boyle with a screenplay written by Aaron Sorkin.
