Oh. Attendez. J’ai déjà gagné.

L’amour l’emporte sur tout.

Même ma famille de tarés.

The wedding day of the century has arrived. Ok. It may only be the wedding of the century in the eyes of our heroine's mother. It's our heroine's mother who turns the whole wedding into a huge farce that costs in the 6 figures.
Our heroine and hero put up with a lot. Even a cat forced to wear a kilt. But when our heroine's archenemy arrives that is the breaking point.

Chocolate dildos, a topless establishment, coffee cheating, two veeery competitive brothers and elopement from the society wedding of the century.

This book was truly the best one yet. So hilariously entertaining that my coworkers constantly poked their heads in my door to see what was so funny.

4.5 stars. Possibly even a full 5 stars:-)

3.5 Shopping for a Billionaire’s Wife Stars

I have so many mixed feeling about this book.

I really enjoyed this series. I found it funny and witty and charming. A great story, this book just wasn't my favorite and that’s ok.

Shannon and Declan flee their wedding because of Momzilla, and they end up in Vegas. Predictable … hells no. ha ha

This book was funny, witty and charming like I said before. We still have the same feel as the other books, which is something I was happy about. I just felt it was a little too long and again over the top. But still a good read glad I had the chance at listening to these.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I am going to be honest I really didn't know what to expect. After reading the previous book I wasn't even sure I wanted to continue this series mainly because of Marie aka the Momzilla x 2 !
Despite Marie's antics I preordered this books because I really wanted to witness Declan and Shannon's HEA. I must say am happy I decided to continue, in this book we have the the runaway couple leaving mainy Marie aka momzilla and "her wedding" totally blindsiding her and over 1000 guest as they fly away by an unmarked helicopter to Las Vegas. Of course Marie finds out soon enough and follows them with her husband, Declan's dad and brother and Amanda and her mom.
With the Boston's wedding of the year being the biggest headline and the media getting ahold of the video footage of the couple that actually ran away from their own wedding the media blitz get crazy.
This rollercoaster ride to the alter was funny, downright crazy and therapy for Declan, Shannon, Marie,Jason and James. And in the end you understand Marie and her crazy just a little better and love Declan and Shannon even more.
Definitely looking forward to Amanda and Andrew's story next.

Having read and enjoyed books 1-6 in this series, I snapped up volume 8 when it showed up either free or 99c. These are not super complicated books, so skipping over volume 7 didn't worry me. Regrettably, this volume fell flat. The author's/heroine's over the top commentary continued to offer laugh-out-loud moments. But the zaniness was labored. There was an extended section where the heroine asks to go to a tapas bar but since they are in Vegas, the hero thinks she says something that sounds-like tapas and is far more common in that location. It was so obvious and ridiculous, I skimmed the entire section.

The sentimentality that leavened the sharp humor in the other books was so sweet it made my teeth hurt, but the biggest problem were straight up narrative inconsistencies on time line, e.g. having lunch twice, making plans to meet others for a meal but doing something else without mention of the former plans.

As always, Julia Kent delivers a seriously funny, sexy and at times, emotionally moving story of Declan and Shannon's tempestuous love story.

Add in a crazed Momzilla, the nemesis from hell, a sex starved bestie with a serious crush on the grooms brother, a cat with attitude as well as a menagerie of other animals plus a cast of over 1000........ And the President..... Well you can guess that this is a rollicking good read.

Must be read in sequence..... You'd be crazy not to read the previous 7 books..... And oh the teaser at the end for book 9, Ms Kent, wickedly evil of you yo lead us on!!!!

Fantastic book!!!!!!! LOVED IT!!

Absurd

This is a story you read just for entertainment value alone, however it was the most absurd story. This writer is all about wise cracks, crazy internal dialogue, description & dragging the story out with avoidance, arguments & debates. The actual story is probably only 1/4 of the book. Not for me.

Well, then. I got bored reading this. Towards the end I felt like skipping parts, which is not a good sign at all. I think these novels should have been left as short stories rather than made into a full length one. I do like the story of Shannon and Declan but the books now appear to have a lot more unnecessary rambling.

More like a 3.5 stars
I couldn’t connect to this one as much as I would have wanted to.
It did deal with some good and important aspects of Shannon’s and Declan’s lives, but it still felt a little flat for me.
Also, I didn’t find this book to be funny. I really missed laughing out loud with this one.
But, the ending. Priceless. The ending made me snort with laughter so much. I can’t wait to find out how it will all turn out 😂😂

Whom is married to whom?!?

This story had some ups and downs and for sure some really funny parts!! The biggest question now is who all got married?!

I'm glad that Shannon is finally letting go of some things with Declan. I'm excited to see where they will go from here.

Awesome!!

Julia Kent is back with book 8 of the "Shopping for a Billionaire" series. She has brought back the laugh till your are crying story as well as bringing in a very insightful side that hasn't really been seen in any of the novels. A great mix for this novel.

Last we saw of Shannon and Declan, they were helicoptering away from their, rather Marie's, wedding. Marie was going beyond crazy, Amanda saved two dogs and Chuckles from drowning, Andrew saved Amanda from drowning after getting stuck, and news crews were having a field day. That was book 7.

The beginning of this book started about where we ended last time. Marie is even more crazy, she is trying to figure out why Shannon and Dec left, with whom, and who can tell her where they are going. Eventually, she gets a few answers but is becoming more and more maniacal by the minute. And a great form of entertainment, embarrassment, or both depending upon who you ask. And once she is in Vegas, watch out, because she is not done. Momzilla is still on a mission.

Meanwhile, Declan and Shannon are going through some pre-wedding issues. Is the issue money, lifestyle, culture, or just finding their way and learning from the other? Combine that with Marie still on a warpath, Amanda and Andrew constantly making out, Jason having some issues of his own, Andrew and Dec competing as to who gives the best gifts, along with a sex toy gala within the casino and Shannon and Declan have a lot to deal with. Oh yes, and Amanda and Shannon have found a coffee place they love...in the resort next door. Declan is NOT to happy about that.

Between the very well written insightful and meaningful discussions, tifts, and arguments, Shannon and Dec have, and the comedy often surrounding everything else, Julia Kent has once again brought the laugh until you cry scenes, but has added a new aspect to her writing which was fitting for this book. The serious side to ones relationship. While most of those scenes focused on Shannon and Declan, some focused on other characters, as well. Vegas seemed to bring out the good, not so good, hilarious, and honesty in everyone at one time or another.

Having read all the books in this series, and not as thrilled as usual, with the last one, Julia Kent put her magical cap back on and wrote a true winner. The humor was back to where it usually has been: laughing nonstop; and the added dimension of the introspective aspect was perfect for this book. It wouldn't fit with the others, but was perfect here and truly created another perfect novel in this series.

I am looking forward to the next two being released very soon: Andrew and Amanda and Josh and the chauffeur's story...and if Shannon and Dec even make it too their honeymoon. And rumour has it there may be an heir...to a new company which Dec and Shannon now own (remember that amazing coffee shop??).

A Billionaire’s lifestyle is like no other!

Up until now, we have been entertained with Shannon’s clumsy and awkward introduction to Declan and their roller coaster ride into a sexy, loving relationship. This latest installment of this captivating series is the best yet. The story is witty, hilarious, and descriptively brilliant. Julia Kent continues to take you on a voyage of unimaginable experiences that brings out the angst in all of us. A wedding nightmare, a run away bride and groom, and a crazy Momzilla are the major driving forces for Shannon and Declan trying to navigate a relationship that appears to be based on appearances, money, excess and Declan’s unrealistic expectations to justify his billionaire lifestyle. While Shannon is confused as to just what kind of wife she needs to be for Declan when they marry, you will cringe for her at the outrageous actions of her mother’s Momzilla behavior. The underlying mishaps and miscommunications fuel this couple’s humorous passage into the world of coffee cheaters, the taboo, the draw of Las Vegas, sex toys, and unimaginable “spa” treatments. You can’t help but giggle at the competitiveness between Andrew and Declan, feel the heartfelt love Declan has for Shannon and envy the bond that they ultimately share when they finally discover how their lives will be combined. There is so much more to enjoy in this story that includes their families, friends, and even complete strangers. To completely appreciate and understand Shannon and Declan’s journey, you need to read the entire series. I loved it and can’t wait to see what Julie Kent comes up with next!

This is the latest book from Julia Kent telling the story of Shannon and Declan who met in a men's toilet while she had her hand down the bowl. If you haven't read it go there (and all the books in between) before you read this. You won't regret it.

This book is so different to those before it. There is so much more revealed about the characters and their feelings. The character development is immense and we see so much more of the emotional side of Declan that is usually a blank surface. The background to Marie and Jason was also enlightening but I still find her a little tough to like at times.

As usual, Julia deals extremely well with the passion and emotion between Declan and Shannon leaving the reader reeling along with them. This is, yet again, another intense and gripping installment of their lives together. The laughs are not so prevalent in this book, something that I missed, if I'm honest, but it wouldn't be a Julia Kent book if there were none. For those of us that have followed these characters from the beginning this was a real treat, to learn more about them and their convoluted relationships made up for the lack of constant laughter. How she comes up with some of her plots boggles the mind but I am grateful that she does.

The glimpse into the next book is torture....HOW long do we have to wait? ??

I was given this book as an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review. THANK YOU JULIA KENT.

Book 8 is finally here!! *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Shopping for a Billionaire's Wife picks up where Shopping for a CEO leaves off. Shannon and Declan are running from Momzilla and quite possibly the most ostentatious and ridiculous wedding ever planned! They escape to Vegas but of course nothing with these two is ever that easy.

What I love so much about this series is the laughter you are guaranteed to get at every turn. This book had me laughing out loud at so many parts (vajacial, how ocean water is salty, the lengths Shannon will go to for coffee, and so many others!). This book also explored deeper conflict and inspired some tears at a couple spots. The amazing thing about these characters, as well as the characters from the author's other series, is they feel so real. I connect with them and feel what they are feeling. I root for their happy endings and laugh until I'm crying at their antics.

That cliffhanger ending has me impatiently waiting for Book #9!!

Hurray! Julia Kent is back, bringing with her three-foot-long chocolate penises, cones of shame, and tethticleth galore to once again have us laughing out loud so much that people start to look at us funny! Julia Kent’s characters are so fully developed and well rounded and just real. The characters in this book are absolutely magnetic and you can’t help but be drawn into their lives. You can’t help but root for their HEA. After escaping the wedding, Declan and Shannon have their hands full when their family follows them to Vegas. While dealing with their own growing pains, they’ve also got to manage near constant intervention from family and friends. Can they overcome all the obstacles and manage to make it down the aisle? I have to say that the journey these characters go on is an absolute joy to read. It was hilarious. It was touching. It was romantic. It was poignant. It was meaningful. This was a book I just could not put down... and I cannot wait for the next one!

Julia...I have no clue how you do it. But you do it so well.

Declan of course only has one main priority...he is a man ;-) But he you can't help but love him. If only we could all have a Declan.

Shannon is a Scottish bog of emotions.

Marie is a Black Hole with all kinds of little sharp unnoticeable objects surrounding it that you can't help but be sucked in.

Their business is everyones business, lol.

You just have to read to find out how it all makes for a very fun, emotional, roller coaster of a ride. I mean who wouldn't want to know if the president really helped them escape the wedding of the century to rival Kate and Prince William's Nuptials?

Own it. Love it. Share it.

I have my best friend hooked on this series and she normally sticks to YA Urban Fantasy...so I believe that says something.

Dayreader Kim's Review:
Declan was brought up with money and didn't want for anything.
Shannon grew up middle class.
They love each other very much, however, the battle over money as newlyweds is a major issue.
He wants to spoil her and she hates it.
She doesn't understand how he can continually spend money like it is water.

This was number eight in Julia Kent’s ever popular series, and it was quite humorous. I liked the story and the author.
Although it is part of a series, it was very easy to read as a standalone. It was well written I like her way of intertwining the characters and the plot. I will definitely be reading the other books leading up to this one.
I’m giving Shopping with the Billionaire’s Wife 3.5 stars!

I don't know how it is possible, but every new book in this series is better than the last. But this book is my favorite (so far)

There is so much going on in this book & it deals with underlying "issues" that have been brewing since the beginning of the series. All of those things come to a head & are dealt with beautifully. I can honestly say that in true Julia fashion I laughed so hard I cried, I had to google stuff I thought couldn't possibly be real & I found myself tearing up on a few occasions. This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster that will definitely leave you wanting more. *Download the Audible too while your at it...it's even better than reading it yourself**

Another Julia Kent success! Buy the book, sit down, relax, and enjoy. There is so much angst, tears, laughter, and above all love in this story about Declan and Shannon. I have read all of Julia Kent's books and I don't even worry about reading the blurb prior to buying them, because she always entertains with her wit and writing. So now we patiently wait for her next book, because I know that it will be as good, if not better, than the last book. Thank you Julia for sharing your gift with your readers.

I can never enough of Julia Kent!

Holy cow! I love this book. I love this series. And love the author. You will not be disappointed! But fair warning, don't read when you're supposed to be going to bed.... you won't get much sleep. I, for sure, woke my hubby laughing and crying from laughing, and very little sleep. Shannon and Declan are great, such good dynamics together, cute, and a sexy couple. Now we're have her beasties and his brother up to antics! Ha! Bring it on, I can't wait for the next one.

This book was pure amazing😍 !!
Phenomenal, philosophical, lovable, emotional & all the feels😄

It was a great journey about how Shannon & Declan escape their own wedding fiasco, & get a wedding they truly deserve😘

It starts right off from the point where the last book ends, when they are escaping the wedding to vegas & Elope.

How within 24 hours her Momzilla finds them courtesy of James. Their wedding getting national coverage & publicity.

Many things happen, the usual crazy, the whole gang comes to vegas. Fights of giving ‘big’ gifts happens b/w Andrew & Declan. Heavy jewelry & teddy bear that Shannon doesn't want.
This leads to some fights b/w Shannon & Dec over their ‘powers’.

Though at last they understand & make out their differences & now are truly ready for the marriage.

Her father told Shannon story about his marriage & the fakery of Vegas.

Now she understands her mom more.

The marriage happens, less hectic & beautiful😍

Her dad wins money from casino & becomes rich, but gives it all to James, as a payment for Shannon's marriage. (screaming Marie in background)

A great wedding gift from Declan to Shannon, leading to the girls happiness & an angered Andrew.

Everything was going great & they were just going to the honey moon when Andrew & Amanda went missing.
They were found with rings on left fingers, & the chaos of last night that they couldn't remember.
The story continues...

‘what happens in Vegas, stays in vegas’

I listened to the Audiobook. Tanya Eby did a fantastic job! I don't know what reading the book would have been like, but the audio was great.

This book was crazy, sweet, romantic, funny, and touching. I have to say that I never did like Marie, even after hearing her story. I felt for her, but didn't like her at all.

I did like that Shannon was not comfortable with Declan's wealth or lifestyle. That seemed a little more realistic to me. After spending your life saving, struggling, working, and doing without, I couldn't imagine being so comfortable with a complete change like that. Not to say she wouldn't come to appreciate it, but I think it would take some getting used to.

Declan and Shannon had such a great romance. They really liked one another. It was sweet the way Declan wanted to take care of her and protect her from her mom.

This book had so many laugh out loud moments. If I wasn't laughing, I was standing around with a goofy grin on my face. I really didn't expect to enjoy this book so much. I'm looking forward to Andrew and Amanda 's story.
