You don't need to go to the store to buy hard taco shells. Tacos taste a lot better when the shells are made from home. This article will teach you how to make hard taco shells with corn.
Ingredients
- Vegetable, canola or corn oil
- Corn tortillas
Steps
-
Fill a skillet with one inch of oil, then let it warm for 10-15 minutes. Once the oil has warmed, add a corn tortilla to it.
-
After one second has passed, remove half of the tortilla from the oil with tongs or a fork.
-
Fold the tortilla in half so it looks like a taco. Allow one half of it to heat until crispy.
-
Carefully remove the cooked taco from the oil, then put the half that hasn't been cooked back into the oil. Leave it open (about 1 in.) so you can add toppings when you're ready to build your taco.
-
Once both sides have cooked thoroughly, transfer them to paper towels to drain. Once these sides have drained, warm an oven to place the tortillas in until you want to make your taco.
-
Add the toppings of your choice to make your taco. Serve!
