A Guy Posted A Terrifying Picture Of Himself In A Coma To Raise Awareness About Drug Use At Festivals

Jordan Blackburn was hospitalized and his friend died after they took drugs at a festival. Now he is hoping others won't make the same mistake.

A young British man has shared a photo of himself in a coma in an effort to warn others not to take drugs at music festivals.

Jordan Blackburn, 20, was placed in a medically induced coma after becoming ill from taking drugs at the Kendal Calling festival last month, the BBC reported. He was hospitalized for three days but is now on the mend.

His friend Christian Pay, who was 18 years old, died at the hospital. The group of friends took three different types of tablets at the festival, according to the BBC.

Now Blackburn is hoping others won't make his same mistake. He shared a photo of himself in a coma to his Facebook page, saying he feels like he has been given a second chance at life.

He wrote, in part:

Many lives over the weekend, not just those lost, but the familys of those involved have been destroyed - including my own by the careless use of uppers at festivals, or any other time for that matter. I really think I need to raise awareness and show people what the consequences are just off a little pill. I'm not telling people to like or share this post, just please read and think hard about what you're putting in your body, or at least know what you're putting in your body.
I've been lucky enough to have a second chance at life and i'm clinging to every part for me and Chris, so the most i can do is let people know the consequences they put themselves in and their family.

Blackburn told the BBC that most young people think they're invincible — until tragedy strikes.

His mother, Alison Turnbull, told the BBC that her son has been driven to try to make a difference because of the loss of his friend.

Fourteen people were hospitalized after the festival, which was headlined by Snoop Dogg and Kaiser Chiefs, according to the BBC.

Police arrested four people who were suspected of possession with intent to distribute at the festival.

BuzzFeed News has contacted Blackburn for comment.
