Phone makers these days try their best to come up with products that have an innovative design and stand out from the rest. One of the most recent such examples is the LG V10 which has a unique dual screen and dual front camera setup.

Back in the beginning of this summer, there have been rumors circulating online suggesting that both Samsung and Apple were exploring a dual-camera phone technology. But as Apple unveiled its newest iPhones and Sammy released the Galaxy Note 5 and the S6 Edge+, we didn’t see this feature being present.

However, it seems that at least Samsung is still tinkering with this technology behind the curtains. At the time it was believed that Samsung would incorporate the new tech into its 2016 Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone, but now sources say that this will actually happen after the device is released, and Sammy will use it in the handsets that will follow the S7.

The sources who revealed this information say that the dual camera setup should be ready by the end of 2015, but Samsung will carefully analyze what is the best course of action to take with this new feature. There are obviously various manufacturing challenges that it has to face, such as the fact that two camera modules take more space and are also more expensive.

Therefore, Samsung needs to put its engineers to work to figure out what’s the best way to implement it. But if LG managed to find a way, let me assume that it won’t take Samsung too much to figure out the secret, as well. After all, they aren’t strangers to unusual designs, and best proof to that is the Edge line of devices with the curved display.

Also, it needs to be pointed out that HTC also tried this trick with the dual camera setup, but it seems that it didn’t work that great for them, and now all eyes are on their new flagship smartphone that is said to be released on October 20th. But Samsung is definitely a bigger player in the mobile market, so I think they will do a much better job/
