Jimmy Kimmel wrapped up his week in Brooklyn with a fitting welcome to the World Series bound New York Mets on Friday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“What a great year to be a Mets’ fan. I mean, who the hell expected this to happen?” Kimmel, a Mets fan, said.

Though Kimmel was still in disbelief that the Mets made it so far into the playoffs, third baseman David Wright assured the host that the team had this planned from the pre-season.

“Funny thing is in spring training we actually had a meeting about what it would be like when we got to the playoffs,” Wright told Kimmel.

“How stupid would you feel right now if you’d had that meeting and weren’t in the playoffs?” Kimmel said.

Teammate Jacob deGrom had one of the best moments when Kimmel revealed there was a Halloween costume dedicated to the pitcher — it comes with a bat, a hat, and a wig that resembles deGrom’s long locks.

Kimmel revealed the outfit was originally called “the Brunette Seductress” before it became a deGrom costume.
