Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have decided to end their marriage. The musical couple announced Monday that they would divorce after nearly 13 years together.

“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment,” the couple said in a joint statement. “To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”

Stefani filed for divorce Monday, citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents acquired by EW. She and Rossdale, via his response, both seek joint custody of their children. Rossdale’s response was filed at the same time as Stefani’s initial document.

Stefani, the No Doubt frontwoman, and Rossdale, the frontman of Bush, began dating in 1996 and got married in September 2002. They have three sons together: Kingston, 9; Zuma, 6; and Apollo, 1.
