Marie Lu, the author of multiple New York Times best-selling series (the Legend series, The Young Elites, and The Rose Society), will write a new duology with Penguin Young Readers imprint G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers, EW can announce exclusively.

The first book in the upcoming series is called Warcross, slated for a Fall 2017 publication. Warcross, according to the publisher, will follow two teenage bounty hunters who are “hired by a young billionaire to catch a hacker in the world’s most phenomenally popular virtual reality video game.” We’re particularly looking forward to the video game elements, as Lu is something of an expert: A gamer herself, Lu also worked as the art director of a video game company.

Warcross is very much a love letter to all my favorite things,” Lu says in a release. “I am having the most deliriously awesome time working on this new project, and I hope that both past and new readers will enjoy reading this as much as I’m enjoying writing it.”

“Every new book from Marie Lu is a major event, and Putnam could absolutely not pass up the opportunity to work with her again,” said Jen Besser, Vice President and Publisher of G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers, in a release. “Her passion for her readers and her unparalleled imagination make Marie one of the most beloved authors in YA literature, and we are proud to be her home.”

While Warcross won’t be released until Fall 2017, fans don’t have to wait too long to hear from Lu again: The Midnight Star, the final installment in her Young Elites series, is slated for an Oct. 11 publication.
