We learn more about Bonnie’s past on How to Get Away with Murder.

Though the real story this week is Asher, who holds all the cards. Always really in the dark about everything going on most of the time, it’s as if he binge-watched last season and is now caught up with the rest of us.

Keeping in mind that Bonnie confessed to him that she killed Sam, he is torn with what he wants to do. Does he still testify in order to gain immunity for himself? The show opened to events three weeks earlier with Bonnie rushing from the mansion into a car with Asher in the passenger seat.

Back to present time where Bonnie adds more details to her motive for killing Sam by saying he forced himself on her. The Emmy-winning performance pays off as Asher runs out of the courtroom later before he decides to sign on the dotted line. Bonnie goes to Annalise with the news. Asher confronts Annalise with everything he knows. She goes with the story telling him he can testify and get everyone in trouble or say nothing and keep everyone safe. Asher then finds out his dad plans to cut his own deal and has a vested interest.

Focus to the Hapstall sibling’s case. The students are then tasked to get their now dead aunt’s damaging testimony thrown out. The kids understandingly aren’t in the best frame of mind worrying about if or when they are getting arrested. Connor takes up drinking beer. Laurel makes sexy time with Frank. Oliver, who after all this time wonders why he isn’t getting paid for his hacking, helps them with the case. A video reveals the aunt going on a racial rant against the brother and sister to an officer at the scene. The rest of the footage cuts off, but the sound is there. Left wondering how Annalise retrieved the evidence outside of the discovery, the judge isn’t buying it and motions to allow the testimony to be used in the trial.

He reveals to them Levi is really Rebecca’s brother and Eggs 911. Cops pull up looking for Levi. They search the trunk of his car to find drugs. He is arrested. The group goes to the storage, and Wes opens the unit with the key. There is ton of money in there, but no dead Rebecca. It turns out Frank though a few moves ahead planting the drugs in Levi’s car and having Bruno leave the unit containing the money there. That Frank is employee of the month material no doubt.

Bonnie meets with Asher for one last plea for him not to go through with the deal. It apparently doesn’t work. She breaks down on the phone to Annalise that she failed. Annalise goes to Asher’s house with a jump drive, which contains video of Bonnie as a little girl who was molested by her father. This adds to Bonnie’s story about Sam from earlier.

Back to the flashback, and Bonnie and Asher are sitting in the car. She leaves the car saying she has to use the bathroom at the gas station. Bonnie has blood on her shirt and her body. She tries to clean it all off and does a damn good job. Bonnie comes back to the vehicle find Asher is out of the car.
