Pancakes in July at Hen Hud Summer School

Summer Learning Academy hosts annual breakfast at Frank G. Lindsey

It’s never too hot for home-made pancakes! The Hendrick Hudson Summer Learning Academy proved this once again on July 21st, when it hosted the annual summer pancake breakfast at the Frank G. Lindsey School. Summer Academy principal Elisa Rosen was proud of the turnout and the enthusiasm of the volunteers – parents and older students – who made the event run more smoothly than ever.

There were three menu choices: plain, chocolate chip, and blueberry pancakes, complete with butter, syrup, and orange juice. Summer students, parents, and guardians packed the school auditeria in rotating shifts, by grade, and Food Services Director Clare Carey made sure there was plenty for everyone. VIPs included Frank G. Lindsey’s building principal, Donna Torrisi; Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter; Buchanan-Verplanck building principal Joshua Cohen; Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction Dr. Margaret Ruller; and a contingent of staff members from the District Office.
