Emmerdale’s Natalie Anderson: I try to go to the gym three times a week

Which beauty products do you swear by? 

I get a bit freaked out if I forget to pack my Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara in my handbag! A make-up artist first used it on me when I was in the ITV series The Royal and it’s the only one that doesn’t smudge under my eyes. I also love Boots No7 Concealer – it’s fantastic for tired eyes. 

What’s your best beauty tip?

I’ve heard that it ages you by four days if you don’t take your make-up off before bed, so I always do, with Simple Cleansing Wipes or NeoStrata Facial Cleanser. Then I use NeoStrata glycolic acid moisturiser, which sounds harsh but it makes my skin glow. 

Which woman do you consider beautiful?

Meryl Streep has aged so beautifully and doesn’t look like she’s had anything done. She looks youthful – her eyes sparkle. 

What’s your signature fragrance?

Coco Chanel, which I’ve used since I was 18. It’s old-fashioned and glamorous. Everybody knows when I’ve been in the room. 

How do you pamper yourself? 

I love having a really nice luxurious bubble bath with Elemis oils. I try to do it at least once a week. 

Do you diet? 

No. I’ve made juices now and then, but never had them without eating. James [Natalie’s husband, James Shepherd] does all the cooking, from scratch. Other than pizza on Saturdays, we don’t eat processed food. 

How do you stay in shape? 

I try to go to the gym three times a week, when my two-year-old son Freddie is at nursery. 

If you could change one body part, what would it be? 

I’d like to have a six-pack like Britney Spears had back in the day! 

Would you consider plastic surgery?

You can never say never, but I’m no good with needles or any kind of hospital situation. 

Who’s your style icon? 

Victoria Beckham. I just love her streamlined look and, considering she has four children, she looks really classy. 

Can you describe your style? 

Classic – for daytime, I like jeans, an oversized cardigan, ankle boots and a big bag. I’ve never had a changing bag for Freddie – just a big expensive tote I could stick his nappies in.
