JAMMU: Governor N N Vohra today reviewed disbursement of relief to the traders whose business establishments were adversely affected due to the September 2014 floods in the Valley.

The Governor has been informed by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir that an amount of Rs 6.54 crore was disbursed during the last three days in various districts of the Valley, a Raj Bhawan spokesperson said.

The disbursement of relief to the traders resumed this week after the Governor’s directions to the Divisional Commissioner during his visit to Srinagar on February 16, the spokesperson said.

The Governor has also directed to speed up disbursement of relief out of Rs 1,194 crore approved under Prime Minister’s Development Package 2015, to families whose houses were damaged in September floods.

The spokesperson said the state Administrative Council (SAC) which met on February 25 has approved additional relief to the affected families at the rate of Rs 2.50 lakh for fully-damaged house (pucca), Rs 1 lakh for fully-damaged house (Kachha), Rs 1.25 lakh for severely damaged house (pucca), Rs 50,000 for severely damaged house (kachca), Rs 20,000 for partially-damaged house (pucca) and Rs 10,000 for partially-damaged house (kachha).
