When looking for wheat-free, gluten-free or carb-free bread then Cloud bread as it is known because it resembles the shape of clouds once baked can be just what you need to incorporate into your healthy diet.

These baked rounds only consist of a few ingredients but they will work wonders on your heart and your waistline!

What Is Cloud Bread?

Cloud Bread is jam packed with protein so not only is it a healthy bread replacement for adults but once you get going and try out many additions to the basic recipe it can turn out to be a firm favorite with your kids and a tasty snack to add into their lunchboxes for either school or outings.

Cloud Bread Recipes

There are quite a few recipes to choose from to get some healthy Cloud Bread but all have 4 main basic ingredients but we decided to put out there the healthiest version of them all since we are primarily aiming for the best results.

So this is how it’s done and you will need the following to make a batch of these goodies.

Ingredients:

— 3 eggs, separated.
— 3 tablespoons of cream cheese or full milk cottage cheese.
— Half a teaspoon of cream of tartar or around one and a half teaspoons of lemon.

Optional Extras:

— ⅛ of a teaspoon of salt.
— 2-3 teaspoons of natural sweeteners, preferably honey, stevia, palm sugar or agave syrup.

Directions:

— Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit or 150 degrees Celcius and get your baking tray ready with parchment paper.

— Prepare two bowls, one for your egg whites and one for the egg yolk mixture.

— In one bowl with the egg whites add your cream of tartar or lemon to the eggs and beat till the they form peaks and are stiff.

— In the other bowl with the yolks add the cream cheese and your sweetener of choice and mix together.

— Gently add your yolk mixture to the egg whites by folding it in until you get a consistent yellow color throughout the mixture without overdoing it. We want to keep the stiff egg white and fluffy consistency throughout.

— Make dollops of the mixture and add to the baking tray and with a spoon flatten them out a bit to look like cookies.

— Put them on the middle rack of the oven and let them bake for around 20-30 minutes, depending on how fast they go golden brown.

— Once ready take them out of the oven and place them on a cooling rack or chopping board to cool down.

Suggestions for Cloud Bread

Cloud bread can be eaten nice and hot from the oven or it can be stored in an airtight container or plastic food bag to be eaten later. If left standing it becomes fluffier and chewy in texture and resembles more like regular bread as opposed to when it comes out of the oven and eaten warm. It is quite crumbly in texture at first but the consistency changes when stored.

Cloud bread can be used to replace burger buns, sandwich slices or on its own with soups, butter and jam. You can also replace pita bread and eat cloud bread with your favorite dips like humus or guacamole or turn it into mini pizzas with sumptuous toppings of your choosing. The uses for it are endless and you can let your imagination run wild. Cloud bread is both tasty and nutritious.
