The BBC is working on an in-depth Panorama investigation about the sex scandal allegations involving Prince Andrew.

Researchers are examining claims in court papers from American Virginia Roberts, 31, who says she slept with the Duke of York three times when she was a 17-year-old “sex slave”.

A source revealed: “They will leave no stone unturned to try to get to the heart of what is being claimed.”

Prince Andrew, 55, who was pictured with his arm around Ms Roberts in 2001, publicly denied allegations that he had sex with her, “reiterating and reaffirming” a Buckingham Palace
statement which rebutted the claims.

A spokesman for the BBC said: “At any one time the BBC is working on any number of investigations. We don’t comment.”
