Nestle: Forced labor has no place in our food supply chain
Nestle says "forced labor has no place in our supply chain" following a U.S. class action lawsuit that alleges the Swiss food company knowingly supported a system of slave labor and human trafficking to make its Fancy Feast cat food. Nestle didn't deny the allegations in an email Sunday to The Associated Press but said its guidelines require suppliers to respect human rights. It outlined steps Nestle has taken to rid forced labor from its seafood supply chain.

Will somebody please put Nestlé out of their misery?
Forced labor should not be a part of any industry ideally.
Yet after decades of scandals related to slavery on their supply chain they still don't care about inspecting their suppliers.
I think the only answer is to hold companies liable for what goes on in their suppliers workplace. It's not just a nestle problem, it's food and clothing and cell phones. Companies don't inspect because if they don't know, they're not responsible, and cheating makes money. So they hire someone and pretend inspect and use plausible deniability as a shield. If they were responsible to see that the laws were followed, they'd stop doing this.
