Enterprise PCs aren't always the sexiest of devices, but credit HP for trying to inject its business lineup with a little panache. The latest additions to its Elite family of corporate computers push the envelope a bit (only a bit, since this is the workplace, after all) when it comes to design and features.

HP seems to have taken a fresh look at its EliteOne business all-in-ones and returned with a pair that the company claims are sleeker than previous models and also come with a couple of noteworthy features. These include optional integrated wireless charging for smartphones built into the stands of the EliteOne G2 705 and EliteOne G2 800 as well as a fingerprint reader. The 800 includes an Intel Skylake (sixth-generation) Core processor (i3, i5, or i7 depending on the configuration) along with AMD Radeon R9 discrete graphics, while the 705 makes use of AMD's new Pro A10 processors and Radeon R6 graphics. Both come with a 23-inch display.

If you don't need a screen, and space is at a premium, HP is calling the EliteDesk G2 Desktop Mini "the world's smallest business-class desktop." The EliteDesk 800 offers a choice of Skylake CPUs, while the 705 uses AMD Pro A12 chips with Radeon R7 integrated graphics. The 800 is also rugged enough that the company has pending tests to see if it meets MIL-STD 810G durability standards. Either tiny system can fit behind an HP EliteDisplay using an optional mounting bracket.

Another notable desktop is the Collaboration PC G2, a special version of the EliteDesk 800 Desktop Mini accepts the Intel Unite Skype for Business Plugin in order to make video conferencing as seamless as possible. It can be combined with the EliteDisplay E240c Video Conferencing Monitor, which features an HD webcam and high-performance speakers to complete the conference call experience.

HP didn't forget laptops, adding the EliteBook 705 G3 series in 12.5-inch, 14-inch, and 15.6-inch versions. All of them will be powered by the Pro A12 processors, include the HP Premium Keyboard, and feature what HP calls "long-life" batteries that can handle 1,000 charges and discharges. The subscription-based HP Touchpoint Manager solution allows IT departments to manage a company's laptops, tablets, and other devices using a mobile app.

The EliteBook 705 G3 series will be available imminently at a starting price of $749. The EliteOne 705 G2 and Collaboration PC G2 are also expected to go on sale this month, starting at $849 and $729, respectively. The EliteDesk 705 Desktop Mini (from $499) and EliteOne 800 G2 (from $1,199) are expected next month.
