Video: This is what 4K video filmed on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus looks like

It’s hard to pick a standout feature on the iPhone 6s, with its sturdy aluminum body, speedy A9 processors and the addition of the transformative 3D Touch, but the camera is certainly near the top of the list.

We’ve already seen several comparisons of photographs taken using the new 12-megapixel camera, but the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are also capable of capturing 4K footage — a first for an Apple device.

On Tuesday, Dom Esposito at 9to5Mac shared a video demonstrating the 4K footage that millions of new iPhone 6s owners are probably trying out for the very first time this week.

Seeing how incredible the Ultra HD footage looks after being taken off of the iPhone, it’s even more of a shame that a vast majority of iPhone 6s owners will likely opt for the 16GB model. As we discussed in an earlier article, if you delete every app, contacts, text message and photo from your 16GB phone, you’ll still only have room for about 30 minutes of 4K footage.

If you’re impressed with the results of this 4K test and think that filming in the highest resolution available is going to be an important feature of your next phone upgrade, you might want to opt for more memory.
