Shake Shack plans to open at least 14 new restaurants in 2016, following a year of rapid growth.
The chain — which now has 49 domestic stores — saw comparable restaurant sales increase about 11% to 12% in 2015, according to recent guidance. The company also opened its first locations in Texas and Maryland last year, as well as international markets like Japan.
A number of the upcoming Shake Shacks will be in California, Arizona, and Texas. The new outlets are expected to have average annual sales volumes of at least $3.3 million each, which is higher than the average for many other fast food chains, including McDonald's and Chipotle.
Here's a look at what some of the new design-oriented stores will look like, based on a presentation at the ICR Conference on Tuesday. Details on opening dates were not immediately available.
