Shadowrun Devs Delay Co-op Roguelikelike Necropolis

Oh dear!

Shadowrun Returns gang Harebrained Schemes will not, as previously announced, release their stylish roguelikelike Necropolis [official site] in March. No, if you want to go hacking through dungeons with your chums, you'll need to wait until summer. In short, Harebrained have landed a publisher to release Necropolis on consoles too and say they needed to launch straight into working on that, so the PC version wouldn't get the attention it deserves if they stuck to March. Sure, I'll happily wait for this one.

Harebrained explain in a post on Steam:

"All three versions of the game will release at the same time this summer. We'll announce the new date as soon as everything’s solidified. And before it comes up, this wasn't Bandai Namco's idea - it was ours. While I hate to slip our release date, I know from experience that doing a console release right adds a significant amount of dev work. It's work that had to start right away (because consoles require a lot more lead-time for certification) but we didn’t want the console work to shift our focus away from launching on PC. So we believe this is absolutely the right decision, and that the additional time will make for an even better Necropolis for consoles AND for PC."

As ever, better a game's delayed than pushed it before it's ready, yeah? You wouldn't begrudge them getting their game onto more platforms, would you?

On the bright side, Harebrained do have a new pretty trailer for you to look at now:
