MELBOURNE, Fla., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said they arrested one of two women seen riding sea turtles in photos that went viral on social media.

The Melbourne Police Department said officers responding to a disturbance at a home Saturday night identified Stephanie Moore, 20, as one of two women wanted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission over photos taken at a Florida beach in early July.

The photos showed Moore and another woman sitting on the backs of sea turtles.

Moore was arrested on the active warrant and taken to the Brevard County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bond.

The state's Marine Turtle Protection Act makes it a third-degree felony to harass or attempt to capture any marine turtles.
