So Sunday afternoon, when he announced “Stream of consciousness coming,” it was immediately obvious Jay had something on his mind. And he should: His streaming music service, Tidal, has had a rough week, getting beat up from industry types and regular users alike for its higher price, data-gobbling for mobile users, and somewhat millionaire-pop-star-centric marketing campaign.
