I think the overuse of modern technology is making people ill. Being expected to be on call 24/7(when its not in the job description) is no life to lead. Constant updates on social media about peoples lives is making people ill - people don't socialise properly any more. Folk don't get away from it all anymore(have to be available 24/7) and so holidays are not holidays. Those who know folk who have a problem with technology also suffer due to the isolation felt when attempting to socialise. Turn off your phones for more freedom folks!

Or, you know, you could just learn to deal with technology in a reasonable, controlled manner, and let others do whatever the hell they want with their lives.

I'm in Bulgaria right now, which has super-fast Internet connection, WiFi everywhere, and decently-priced cellphone data plans. Yet the coffee and dining cultures are strong enough that you never see people gazing at their phones in restaurants or cafés. People look each other in the eye and enjoy their social time without distraction from their smart devices.

I think that's way more reasonable than isolating yourself from the beneficial uses of said technologies.

So basically, science wants to do science stuff, people are being people, other people are pissed about that, and teenagers are still interested in technology and each other?
