Man drove drunk at 184km/h: police

A man will face court after allegedly reaching high speeds on a Queensland highway while nearly five times over the legal blood alcohol limit.

Police said the man was intercepted at 184km/h on the Barkly Highway at Cloncurry, near Mount Isa, and had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.243 per cent.

The 25-year-old was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance and unlicensed driving.

He is due to face the Cloncurry Magistrates’ Court on February 5.
