That is, at least, according to actor Ari Millen, who toward the end of filming Season 2, discovered that he'd soon be playing a quartet of lookalikes on the cult favorite TV show. It was a challenge Millen was excited to tackle, albeit with support from existing master of clone acting, star Tatiana Maslany.
"She was very supportive from the very beginning," he said of Maslany, who plays nine characters on Orphan Black. "Obviously, she knew before I did, and the day after I got the call -- because it was a secret -- she was like, [whispers] 'Congratulations; I'm so excited.'"
When Mashable caught up with Millen in January, he was only about halfway through filming the season, but well into getting to know his four vastly different characters.
"They're self aware. They've known each other since birth, so you don't have that -- 'I'm Ukrainian,' 'I'm suburban,' 'I'm English,' 'I'm rich.' You don't have that diversity," he said, referencing Maslany's clone conglomerate. "But what you do have is a collection of guys who are aware of who they are, their purpose, but at the same time, everyone always wants to be themselves."
