From ombré eyes at Elie Saab, smudged out smokey eyes at Emanuel Ungaro to lower lid liners at Holly Fulton—aqua had a major spring/summer make-up moment on the 2015 runway. But of all the shades in your eye palette, aqua is often left untouched and unused. We say don't shun the pretty, watery colour anymore, Vogue shows you how to try this cool and refreshing runway trend this season.

Line it: If you think of the shade as daring and dramatic, it can easily be toned down for daily wear. The best way to wear this is as playful, coloured eyeliners. Make sure to keep the rest of your make-up minimal—do rosy-nude lips, fresh, dewy skin and add a slight flush to the cheeks.

Shadow it: Aqua-hued shadows complement every skin type and eye colour—you just have to keep in mind the tones you choose. Darker skins should go for bold shades with gold undertones, like aquamarine. Cooler tones work better for lighter complexions. If you want to tread lightly into aqua territory, do a soft wash across the lids.

Coat it: Ditch the boring blacks and basic browns and swipe on two coats of aqua-hued mascara, only on your top lashes. Amplify the look by drawing on a winged eye in cerulean blue.

Colour it: This shade works on almost all hair colours—we're talking about light browns, dark browns and blacks. You just have to figure out the way you want to wear it. You can choose to go permanent with highlights or try temporary options like dip dyes and hair chalks—it's a clever way to enjoy this trend without having to fully commit.

Kylie Jenner, Demi Lavato and Vanessa Hudgens are only a few of several celebrities seen sporting this look.

Paint it: Do a pastel white base and aqua tips to give your French manicure a summery twist. Go for an ombré aqua mani and coat your toe nails in light and dark aqua tones.
